Last week the team got dressed up and headed to the Tobacco Dock in London for a very fancy awards ceremony, hosted by comedian Russell Kane.
The occasion? The Scale Up Awards 2022. We had been shortlisted for The Manufacturing Excellence award and we won!
This was a big one for the team and we were all delighted to put our competitors ‘in the shade’ and walk on to the stage to receive the trophy, as we knew we were among the best of the best – a real honour.
The Scale Up Awards are organised by Business Leader Magazine and are the first and only awards to focus on the scale-up sector, celebrating high-growth companies and the entrepreneurs that run them. The category was judged by an eminent panel of judges, carefully selected for their expertise and professionalism.
The ceremony attracted more than 450 business leaders, entrepreneurs and VIPs from across the nation and other notable attendees included Theo Paphitis, Josh Robson and Emma Sayle.
Our MD Stuart and brother Brad were obviously thrilled to have won this award. Stuart said of the win: “We went all out and bought a table for the awards evening and took the team with us, so to receive such an accolade for what we all work so hard to achieve was an absolute honour and a cause of great celebration!
We have always been proud to make the highest quality products at Caribbean Blinds and are the only company in the UK dedicated purely to external shading. This year we have invested into a 10,000 sq/ft extension to our factory to ensure we can keep up with demand by being able to hold more raw materials, but drive down lead times. This follows a £100,000 investment in 2021 in new IT and manufacturing software, specifically built for Caribbean Blinds.
We strive to be the best and receiving The Manufacturing Excellence Award in a room full of some of the best businesses in the UK was a huge sign that we are achieving this.”
But that’s not all……..
While we are still euphoric from this latest award win, we are also celebrating another accolade, this time for Stuart. He has been included in the inaugural Family Business United ‘Family Business Top 100’ which acknowledges the exceptional contribution of individuals and their work within a family business.
Stuart’s hard work, dedication, determination, and forward thinking has led to him being recognised in respect of: ‘Inspirational Leader’ and ‘Champion of Change & Innovation’.
As THE champions of family business, Family Business United is a rallying point and voice for the global family business community and we are extremely lucky to have such a dedicated Managing Director who is so committed to seeing this family business flourish!
Onward and upwards!
