The Oliphants in Brentwood, Essex, last year moved into a new build house which benefited from a large glazed roof to the open plan kitchen / diner complimented with bi-fold doors that lead out onto the terrace, allowing an abundance of natural light to flood into the heart of the home. However, despite being fitted with a solar control coating to the roof glazing, which they were advised would ensure this space didn’t overheat, it did – find out why in our recent article ‘Magic Glass’.
Having previously made contact with us at the end of Summer 2015 when they moved into their new home and understanding the benefits of installing external blinds to stop the suns near infra-red radiation reaching the glass and therefore preventing overheating, the Oliphants were keen to get external blinds installed in preparation for the warmer weather, to ensure they didn’t suffer another summer of unbearable indoor temperatuers.
Due to the size of the roof glazing, a twin Cayman model external roof blind was installed, in white hardware to colour match the glazing bars. Each section of the roof blind is operable independently via remote control, to provide maximum flexibility and a sensor is linked in with the installation to provide automatic functioning when the clients are out of the property to ensure they come back to a cool indoor space.
The day after the installation, we received the below feedback on the clients experience with us, which places an emphasis on our professional approach:
“The installation went very well yesterday and the installers finished quicker than they expected. We are sitting here this morning all excited waiting for the sun to come out to see our blinds working!
I think the whole experience with you and your company went very smoothly. You were quick, helpful and very professional. Obviously it is early days so have not seen the product in full action yet but we are looking forward to the summer!
The installers yesterday worked quickly and were very polite and helpful, all in all a very good experience from start to finish.
I would recommend you to other people without hesitation.”
