Recommended by their interior designer, for the quality of product and service we provide, our surveyor met with the Rooneys at their home in Fulham, London, during its refurbishment to discuss the shading requirements to the 3 skylights over the bedrooms and 2 further skylights over the kitchen.
The blinds for the kitchen skylights needed to provide privacy from the neighbouring building without losing the light, whilst the bedroom skylights needed blackout screening for night time. A slight complication was that the skylights opened so the blind system (see below) could not interfere with the mechanism and could not be too heavy. Furthermore the client wished for the blinds to be operated from their home automation system for convenience.
Our St. Lucia tensioned skylight blind, perfectly met the clients requirements. Being a lightweight system with streamline side guides, this could be attached side fix at low level to the alu trim of the skylight avoiding the opening mechanism and operable at any angle, even with the skylight in the open 90 degree position. (Pictured below right.)
We specified the blinds in the Soltis 92/B92 range of materials which have the option of perforated (mesh – 92) or solid (B92) in the same colourways and composition (look) so all the blinds kept a uniformed appearance, with the kitchen blinds in a low perforated mesh material to give the client privacy whilst still allowing diffused natural light in and the bedroom in the solid version for complete blackout.
Post installation, the client dropped us the email (below) with their positive feedback of their experience dealing with us. (Along with asking us to quote for the addition of external roller blinds to some of their windows,)
