Having previously experienced the benefits of owning a patio awning, Mr Cato, on moving to his new home in Horsham, decided a patio awning was one of his top priorities so he could continue to enjoy the alfresco lifestyle he loved, especially with the warm weather approaching.
After contacting his previous awning supplier, who recommended he contact us (CB), our surveyor undertook a detailed survey to run through everything and discuss the options.
Due to wanting to use the outdoor terrace in wet weather conditions aswell as sun, the awning needed to be mounted with a pitch of 14 degrees – to ensure rain shower run off (as set out in European Directive EN13561) which meant it had to be positioned in front of the hanging tiles of this traditional style house to have the required angle with a clear 2m walk under height at the front (leading edge) of the awning when extended.
At CB we design and manufacture (see image below) bespoke brackets to ensure awnings can be installed where others simply cannot and to guarantee a safe attachment, which is exactly what we designed for this client.
The awning, our premium motorised Cuba model with under awning ambient LED lighting was mounted on load bearing cantilever brackets, which has box section colour co-ordinated steel arms that mount to the solid brickwork below the hanging tiles (to which often there are just lightweight blocks such as breezeblock behind) and then wrap around up in front of the hanging tiles, positioning the awning at the required height, in this instance 2.75m allowing the required pitch with a clear 2m walk under height at the front edge when the awning is extended.
After the installation, Mr Cato dropped us the below email praising both our product and service:
“I am absolutely delighted with the awning and it was a pleasure dealing with your organisation.
I should also say your installation guys are a credit to your organisation – clean, tidy, friendly and nothing to much trouble – please thank them again for me.”
Whatever your shading requirement and no matter how complex your installation may appear, our wealth of experience and knowledge means we are always able to provide you with the right solution, expertly installed – no project is too complex.
