As all our products are bespoke, made to order, there are many factors that will affect the price including dimensions, specification and also fixing detail. Many companies in the industry; both direct sales companies and smaller one man bands working from home, use these reasons to insist on carrying out a survey before giving a price (with a view to obtaining a sale once they're in your home).
We understand however that prior to having a survey carried out, most clients in the first instance want an indication of guide price for their requirements to ensure it is within the budgets they have set and so as not to waste their time (and indeed ours).
That’s why we always, prior to organising a survey, request three key pieces of information from you, that allow us to give you an indication of cost for our suggested solution based on your requirements:
- 1. A photo of the application (enables us to understand the fixing options / constraints)
- 2. Approximate measurements
- 3. Your brief (what you are looking to achieve)
A recent customer praised this refreshing approach, after every other company they approached refused to give them a guide price without carrying out a survey first. The client commented following our email exchange which included finally a detailed overview of our suggested solution including guide price for his application based on the information he provided:
“This is what life should be like in this day and age. I now have a good idea of the costs etc of achieving what we want.” He further added “I am a little worried that you have hacked my iPad as this was my tentative stab / guess at a budget figure”.
Following providing a guide price, if it is within the budget set, we will then organise to carry out a full survey to provide a fully detailed formal quotation, where not only will we take precise measurements, we will run through every detail with you to ensure you know exactly what we are proposing and you will be receiving should you progress to an order, including showing physical samples of the solution; hardware, fabrics, control and running through the entire installation process and detail (including fixing methods).
We are proud of our honest approach to all enquiries, with no high pressure selling including artificial prices with fake discounts for on the day orders, instead providing honest expert advice and realistic fair pricing for the quality, level and specification of solution on offer. It is this genuine approach we believe that plays a major part in our success and one of the key reasons we are the favourite external shading company in the UK.
