2021 has arguably be one toughest of years for business with the home improvement sector having to navigate major supply chain issues (remember the suez canal blockage) along with constantly rising raw material costs, all driven by a surge in demand for products across the board.
At Caribbean Blinds we have not been immune to this, however, our forward thinking and dynamic team have adapted to the circumstances, working tirelessly behind the scenes to minimise these impacts to continue to deliver on our promises and indeed innovate because of them. And this didn’t go unnoticed at last weeks face-to-face Suffolk Business Awards ceremony, where we were honoured to be crowned Scale Up Business of the Year amongst the best of the best in the county.
This win highlights just how hard the team has worked to keep our unique family run business not just surviving but growing and prospering.
The Awards are open to all types and sizes of businesses across the region and bring Suffolk’s diverse and vibrant business community together in order to celebrate companies who are truly outstanding in their sector and honour the achievements and contributions being made to the local economy.Image left to right: Geoff Hazlewood (sponsor – Ashtons Legal), Stuart Dantzic, Brad Dantzic
Stuart Dantzic, Managing Director at Caribbean Blinds commented: “2021 has been a remarkable year for Caribbean Blinds. The pandemic has made it so tough for businesses across the board and this will be such a boost for all of our team, who have put their blood, sweat and tears into the business.
Following problems with supply chain, they have all had to work extra hours to deliver for our customers. It is a great team effort, and this award is for all of us. It’s great to be recognised by our peers and see what we have achieved with so many amazing businesses around us.”
The judges commented “the Caribbean Blinds UK team has netted a staggering set of numbers and a forecast growth that cannot fail to impress. This has been achieved through clear focus on purpose, reviewing and simplifying product range and delivering a first class service to the end user. The teams dedication to quality product, quality outcomes for customers and quality training and work environments for colleagues were impressive.
2021 has seen Caribbean Blinds winning and being shortlisted for a number of awards, including the Growing Business Awards 2021, the Build It Awards 2021 and for the second year running, winning at the national Real Homes Awards in The Great Outdoors category with our hugely popular Cuba Awning product being crowned ‘The Best of the Best’ against stiff competition.
