Retractable Folding Arm Awnings
Patio Awnings, Terrace Awnings, Shop Awnings, Sun Awnings, Garden Awnings, Rain Awnings, Twin Awnings, Manual Awnings, Motorised Awnings - we offer every conceivable type of folding arm retractable awning to enhance, protect and prolong the use of the available outdoor space.
Practical and stylish our awnings outstretch to provide a welcome roof to the outdoor area, offering protection from the ever changing ambient conditions. Shade is provided from the suns intense heat to keep you cool on even the hottest summer days whilst shelter is offered from those unexpected and often persistent rain showers*. Damaging ultraviolet rays are blocked providing optimum protection to the skin whilst harsh light is filtered to stop unwanted glare.
The adjoining internal room also benefits as our awnings stop the suns heat rays reaching the glass, reducing solar heat gain and naturally cooling the internal environment along with protecting furnishings from bleaching by the sun, all whilst maintaining the view.
Optional accessories including strip lighting which gives off a golden ambient glow and infra-red heating where the heat doesn't blow away allow you to continue to use your awning long into the evening, whilst our pull out side screens provide added seclusion and privacy. Our patented variable valance on our Montserrat awning additionally offers protection from low winter sun.
How they work...
Our folding arm awnings work like an arm outreaching from the façade; fabric rolled around a rigid galvanised steel rollertube is connected to the awning front profile which is subsequently attached to 2 or more (dependent on system width, upto max 6) folding arms. The arms contain twin heavy duty stainless steel springs that attach to and are put under tension from hi-tensile intertwined steel cables. When the motor is operated, these arms push against the front profile, extending the awning and keeping the fabric taut at every position, giving our awnings a clean, sharp look as they project out. The arms and all components attach to either a back profile which runs the width of the awning or a solid aluminium block to each end.
Full cassette casings around the fabric barrel and folding arms is typically featured on our retractable awnings to protect the material and operating mechanism from all types of inclement weather when retracted, minimising maintenance and neatly hiding the solution away. Non-cassette and semi-cassette model awnings are also available.
A range of fixing brackets and options (dependent on model) allow a safe installation to all structure types. Optional freestanding or ground anchored frameworks are available to support our awnings where it is not possible to attach an awning to the façade or where the awning is to be positioned away from the building.
Designed, Engineered and Built to Last
Using extruded aluminium for the frameworks which is both corrosion resistant and highly durable, along with drop forging/pressure die casting for the joints and stainless steel components to hold everything together, our awnings are strong and resilient, some would say over engineered, we simply say built to last, to withstand everything that is thrown at them.
Little details and finishing touches make all the difference. An array of finishes, styles, colourways and options are available to choose from allowing you to design your very own bespoke awning that is tailored specifically to meet your taste and requirements. Choose from a wide range of standard polyester powdercoated hardware finishes or select a specific colour to match or contrast a brand identity. Alternatively why not opt for stylish textured or metallic finishes that are both striking and eye catching.
For re-assurance and peace of mind all our awnings are extensively and rigorously tested to ensure they will withstand the elements. Certified to both TÜV and European safety standards are awnings meet and exceed the most stringent quality tests, able to withstand (subject to model) windspeeds upto Beaufort 6.
